Hi There

Just looking for some advice on my approved electricians test which is coming up in a couple months at Cambuslang, i have read the basics from other people on this site and know the common faults people make, but I am mainly wondering if the test has perhaps changed just like the FICA changed last year?? most posts on here seem to be a few years old about this subject.

Has anyone on here sat it recently and has any advice or tips?

Whats involved in section A - RIsk Assesment and Assesment of safe working practices?

Thanks

I sat mine around 2009, and one of the things which nearly caught me out, was Ze they required you to use a clear insulated mat which sat on the bottom of a trolley of tools provided. I had not used one before. Probably would have failed if another approved sparks hadn't set me on to that bit of the test.

Make sure you clip the rubber insulating rubber material over all exposed metallic parts as well.

The ACA is testing your advanced knowledge of the FICA.
Make sure you know :

Safe isolation ( every step )
Inspection & Testing every test and in correct procedure.

The rest is common sense.

Thanks for your reply guys, yeah should hopefully be okay I have heard many people mention the clear mat for the Ze. when you say Rubber material are you on about the same thing? thanks guys any more advice is appreciated.
