What do you all make of the new JIB grade that they are to introduce with the new 18th edition?
'ECS registered electrician' is what they are calling it apparently to replace gold card?
Have I heard this correctly?
What are your thoughts?
I know that's the really annoying thing about it. We pay good money for them.
When it came through the post I thought they had sent me a trainee card at first. Hope they change it back but won't hold my breath
You might find that you struggle to complete the course if you dont cover all the criteria in your NVQ. Doing only data wont cover all aspects in the NVQ and they will ask you to gain experiance elsewhere to finish it and qualify
What does every everyone think of the new Ecs gold card having a white back? Maybe im being picky but i think it somehow degrades the gold card. Is it just me or does anyone think it should have stayed all gold
Apprentiships are not 5 weeks or 2 years or 3 years they are 4 years. I'm not saying that someone that has just finished their 4 year college course is suddenly the best sparky in the world either. I'm also not saying someone with 10 years experience is **** either but if what you guys are...
If that's how C&G inspect, then that's ridiculous. Obviously they can inspect every single paper but to pick just one isn't right. I hope this sort of thing isn't allowed to continue. It will end up with everyone on site having a gold card skilled or not

Hi there,
This is my first time posting on here.
I'm hoping somebody on here can help clear something up for me. I did my 2357 level 3 nvq apprentiship at leeds college of building. When they set out the course they told us that we would also gain our 2394 initial verification by changing some...
