I believe this is the case, yes.

EICR. Cu "armoured" 3Ph supply cable. Is this a thing?

It was installed in ~ 1989. That would have been 15th brown book, but I don't think that affects anything. I'm not sure if ESQCR had anything different to say back then. Substation in a building on the domestic site. Original contractor no longer trading. No information otherwise.

EICR. Cu "armoured" 3Ph supply cable. Is this a thing?

Definitely concentric. Not split. I'd hesitate to call it P"M"E because there is definitely no opportunity for any multiple earths this side of the substation.

EICR. Cu "armoured" 3Ph supply cable. Is this a thing?

I was tempted to call it "concentric". I'm only previously familiar with domestic 1 Ph supply TN-S which splits N & E on the outer.

EICR. Cu "armoured" 3Ph supply cable. Is this a thing?

I've come across a DNO installed (SSEN) 3 Ph 3 core PNE supply cable from a private substation to a large Lucy domestic head. Cable 3 Ph is copper "armoured" (or is there a better name for it?). Entirely underground, entirely within a domestic single owner property. No obvious practical or...

EV chargers load curtailment & remote Ct. Recommend me a brand?

OK, that seemed straightforward enough. (Having checked Zapi 2 in more detail). I note your comment about the Harvi 65A limit for wireless and checking this on website agrees. 60A set it would be fine though. My outstanding concern about the range is (partly) eased by your 40M experience. I used...

EV chargers load curtailment & remote Ct. Recommend me a brand?

Hi Gavin. Thanks for the quick reply. I know of Myenergi and have looked at their products in the past, but not for a while. The Matt:e (strange name) is a brand I have never come across so thank you for the quick pointer. Without much spare time, I might be away for a little while here...

EV chargers load curtailment & remote Ct. Recommend me a brand?

Can anyone recommend an EV charger brand/type with load curtailment (throttling) which is easy to interface by manufacturers design, with a remote Ct clamp (via radio link)? Situation as follows: Customer in 18c manor house converted to flats, living third floor. Supply head is ~ 35M away with...

    Contactum Alfanar range. Not impressed.

One if my customers bought a batch of "Alfanar" accessories for a job I'm working on. I'm very underwhelmed. Has anyone else had the pleasure? The thermoplastic fittings have minimalist shallow terminals. In the case of the sockets, too close together for comfort also, meaning a very precise (...

    Calibration Costs?

Did Rexel give you a turn - round time on that? My local Rexel has more or less shut their doors. I "stretch" a cal out to a couple of years with regular test-card checks etc, but with everyone closing their doors and insisting on mail-in of instruments that's got difficult. This is the...

Please suggest a reasonable quality white euro-module brand

I don't do much data cabling. I fitted recently CAT6 using TLC budget "Kauden" brand euro modules and plates. No problems with the module connectivity, but they were sloppy in the default frames and the frames were really flimsy and nasty sharp cornered thin plastic. I needed a lot of care just...

How many eicr in a day

I've never managed an EICR in less than a full day. I can't see how it's possible. The one I just did, with hundreds of little and bigger fixes throughout, (paid for separately), took three weeks. Anyone doing EICR's might do well to listen to the Grenfell tower enquiry podcast. The scale of...

PRS registration to carry out EICRs

I was just reading this up today. It appears to not be mandatory, but landlords will be encouraged to pick off the register. I do probably only 3-4 EICR's a year. It's a useful source of extra income though, especially since ~ 80% of them need additional works to get through. Problem is, the...

Ferrite cores, how do they work?

I'd also add to Lucien's excellent answer that different formulations of ferrites have different permeability and loss tangent as a function of frequency, - which boils down in practical terms to varying ability to attenuate different frequencies which you might be interested in attenuating...

slim 6mm SWA Y joint for bollards?

Terminating 2 x 6mm swa into 1.5mm H07 flex inside lighting pillars. Many of them.. Max probably 85mm dia. Wiska 308 too big, Wago capsule too big, Galv trouser boxes too small. Nothing seems to be suitable. Am thinking of making my own with 82 dia solvent weld tube. - Know of any commercial...
