Kirchhoff is really "common sense" applied to Ohm's law. Once you get that it's all the same thing. Tutors may get a bit ---- about it so I understand your point. In this case Kirchhoffs "laws" are used in the way I did it also. (Not being a law at all really- just being a rather obvious...
Let's start you off then.
Get your pencil.
Name the voltage where the resistors join (for the sake of argument call it V2).
Name the current in the left hand resistor I1 and in the right hand resistor I2.
Remember Ohm's law. That's it, it really is. - But to take you one step further..
Mr...
This is a UK forum, but for your purpose it probably makes little difference.
There is more than one way to correctly wire 2-way lighting, but there are numerous ways it could be wrong. One such conceivable error is as attached.
A correct way is on the left, but the closest incorrect...
I ordered one two months ago to try out. It has not arrived yet from China..
Provided you are sure you have the 2-way wired correctly, then It's probably just what you get for less than a fiver :(
The S1 S2 will be a very high impedance input, so there is hardly any conceivable way it would...
I'd give it a C3, that way you get to record it and it's a permanent record on your inspection. Di-isoctyl phthalate is toxic, endocrine disruptor, (- wear gloves). It's worth your customer knowing about it. Saying that I've always measured reliably high IR in all places I've seen this stuff. If...
For someone to sign it off (and so take safety responsibility) they'd not only need access to cable ends for measurements but clear enough proof of appropriate cable installation, including any joints made in it. Personally I might accept this if you were to provide adequate photo and/or video...
Does anyone source reliable and good value high CRI led bulbs in standard GLS format (ES & BC)? - Ones which don't cost a fortune and give out good ~2700..3000K light?
I have found that the fairly easily available and not too pricey Philips CRI97 "ExpertColour" GU10's make a really noticeable...
Can I bump this thread please?
The last batch of tails I ordered from a wholesaler turned out not to be grey sheathed BS6181Y 7 strand I ordered, but BS6004 BS6181Y BASEC 19 core. This is “flextail” from some suppliers.
-But do we really see it as "fine wire" re 526.9 and ferrules? It's...
Thanks SJD. That implies it fits to the busbar. Makes sense, but why it's called a "neutral link" was what threw me. (And for Ferg, well it ought to, but that was where I found it, and it didn't in that respect :)
Who's familiar with Hager KRN190? It's called a "neutral connecting block" by Hager with no further info. This seems a maybe misnomer, but I have never seen one in the flesh.. I'm assuming it would have a lower terminal spaced to fit a standard Hager busbar prong if it were fitted like an MCB...
I am, more or less. And second question.. "Results in serious injury to".. doesn't specify commercial properties.
I've fitted SPD on 9 out of 10 CU's I've done since regs. The one without I did get through the risk assessment without because I could almost see the sub-station. The risk analysis...
OSG suggests RCBO's on a TT without up-front S type. That's a risk you might be prepared to take, but the original reasons still stand. The other thing to think about is you are very likely to be fitting SPD in the same board, and this means more cables connected in before any RCBO's. (Often of...
IMO it's in many cases an overreaction to loose connections which just demand more care. A set-up which assumes we are all as ham-fisted as the worst.
I've found numerous completely never done up connections, and also note that torque settings by the book on screw terminals (N/E bars) with...
To be a lighting designer needs a sadistic tendency. Valued talents include sourcing microscopic junction boxes and screws in teeny ready to throw-away bags. After all, bell-wire fits inside most connectors adequately. Experience of the real world a disadvantage.
I installed some JCC Hybrids based on their generous quoted light level and the marketing hype, using my normal rules of thumb. The output was underwhelming. I made myself go back and squeeze in a couple of extras because it was a bit embarrassing. Cost me a day that did. I won't fit those again.
