Apparently so. I noticed one ours hadn't been notified and was three or four months over. I spoke to our DNO. Their response was pretty much 'no, don't worry about it. Loads of installs aren't registered'.
Okay, lets assume that the cuts do go ahead and that material costs remain pretty much where they are now as well as fuel costs. Can anyone see a future in the industry at all?
Anything but pretty much south and unshaded is looking at 15 years plus even for a good value install.
We were called out to a job earlier in the week where a system had stopped working. Turned out to be a loose connection in the AC isolator which had finally failed.
Looking at the system, there were three different arrays at different orientations all on a single MPPT with huge shading. The...
Thanks Bruce. I don't think this was a direct strike as there are no signs of damage whatsoever. Just dead LCD screens and data logging showing that they failed during the storm.
We were called to a job today where all three SolarMax 15mt inverters have failed. No display on the inverter and it was around the time of a severe electric storm. We are to replace the three inverters but I wanted to offer him some protection.
Does anyone have any idea what kind of measures...
Had a phone call from NICEIC today telling me that my MCS training is actually 6 months overdue. Had no idea what he was talking about but apparently I need to do a refresher course to be MCS compliant. Anyone else heard about this?
I'm not particularly keen on travelling to Chesterfield to...

To be fair, this issue was with their clumsy website. Guy on the phone acknowledged that it...
Thought we'd try Rexel again having turned our back on them after a multitude of delivery issues. Placed an order on their website yet hadn't noticed that a couple of the items were out of stock (it's not exactly clear on their website). Rather than contacting us to tell us that they hadn't...
I've not used them but I know EH Smith supply them. I would definitely recommend them as a supplier. To date, we've not had one delivery issue from them. Which I think is pretty remarkable considering how often everyone else seems to drop the ball.
We're going to take a look at the Solax X-Hybrid at the end of the month. Figures still don't seem to add up but we're getting asked for this more and more.
We went to look at a job this morning where were being asked to refit some solar panels after a roof had been re-slated. The roofer said that he'd refitted the brackets exactly in the same places as before and using the same method.
First of all, the brackets were 'screwed' directly through...
