    PV on outbuilding

Hopefully someone with PV experience might point me in the right direction. I have a job where the customer has gone ahead and installed a cable to supply power to a shed which is going to be fitted with LED lights and sockets for light power tools. They are also fitting 7kW PV system. Is there...

    Split concentric sub mains

Looking for a bit of advice here. Just started doing work at a large hotel recently and the wiring is a bit of a shambles but the owners realise it's been bodged for years and are willing to spend the money required to put it right as we find it. Got called today to say a resident got a shock...

Pink wire on a sm 5205

If it's on a neutralizer it is a specialised valve that dunsley stipulate. Not entirely sure of its function but it works in conjunction with the neutralizer system and controls the circulation pump and is controlled by the high limit stats and the cylinder stat. Google dunsley neutraliser and...

    Which consumer units are best

I remember when 17th edition boards first came out and the only 17th ed boards my local Cef stocked were m2. I fitted one at my parents and when I powered up it was showing reverse polarity. Ends up the internal links were wrong thus putting out reverse polarity. Also the mcb's were crap and the...

    Good Quality Consumer Unit

I can't stand them! Hate the different coloured breakers! Personally would only ever use them as a last choice. They always make me think of diyers boards as there used to be a hardware store where I used to live that sold them about 15 years ago!

    Scrap

Just wondering what everyone does with their scrap? I've got loads of rubble sacks full of all sizes ranging from 1mm to 25mm. I couldn't be arsed stripping the small stuff but might separate the bigger stuff (old tails, bigger armour) as I might get round to strip it? Is it worth it?
