    Intermittent shock at kitchen sink

    I has something similar once. Turned out that the kitchen ring had broken cpc in 2 places, the washing machine was running in the section that wasn't earthed and had a small earth leakage fault on it. The sink, being bonded was providing a fault path when ever the lady was emptying the machine...

    Cheers guys, I had guessed it was to do with sound! Was trying to suss if the insulation was different between the 2, I.e sound proofing on one and thermal on the other.

    AEG batteries aren't great in my opinion. Went through 3 in a couple of years. Drill worthless to me now!

    Fan - for 24-hour operation?

    I would recommend Envirovent fans. They are designed to run continuously with minimum consumption. They aren't the cheapest but they are good.

    Doesn't the screw for the cover hold the clock mechanism in place? I've had people nick them before when they are not screwed in.

    You could try eBay for a second hand one? If it's just the bottom cover you need. You could then keep the clock as a spare.

    The condensation was what I was thinking, although the grease build up is a good point that I'd not thought of before. Oh well, shot myself in the foot, gotta core a hole out now!!

    There was a plaster vent there anyway so the chimney looks to be disused. I agree though, and don't want to install the fan. Was just hoping to get a reg number to back me up. Cheers.
