Have you thought about getting a proper chasing tool? I have one from machine mart and it works perfectly! I can chase from ceiling to floor in an ocupied house with hardly any dust when im finished
Only had one call out ths year. Christmas eve call from a Bupa care home we did some bits for a while ago. Tree fell down on the overhead lines taking out l1 ans l3. Had to juggle the sub mains around a bit to get their essential services back online then will have to go back in a week or two to...
When i was in my apprentiship, around 2005 we were building and installing control panels ans cabinets for glaxo smith kline in dartford. I spent 2 days making off and terminating 12x 40 pair cables only to be told it wasnt neat enough. Rip it out and do it again! I could have cried!
I am currently installing a fairly large l2 system to a pub/b&b. I took the fire alarm planner from CEF round with me originally to plan it, then sent the plans to a fire alarm company near me to diuble check them. They gave the all clear and will come and commission when ive finished then take...
As above, whenever someone posts pics to a post I cant see them when i am using the android app? Is it something wrong or just need more posts to get to that level etc?
Cheers,

I'm a big fan of full metal containment, during my apprenticeship we ran metal containment accross 4 floors and used conduit etc as cpc. No problems whatsoever! Biggest problem we come accross now is people adding extensions etc to these circuits but not continuing the earth path correctly
We did a dentist a couple years ago. Much the same, I think we had 3 chairs on one 16a circuit fed to a spur outside each surgery. It was a big place with 9 chairs in total. And the light was just part of the room lights circuit though it had a switch on the top to turn it off when it wasn't needed
I got a Clarke one from machine mart. Quite noisy but works an absolute treat. So long as you start at the top and pull it down the wall. If you push up it tries to climb out of the chase and throws all the dust out the back..
I was on the cards for about 7 years with two companies. Did my time with a heavy industrial firm, got laid off then went into house bashing and commercial with a little light industrial. Fell out with the boss so decided it was time to go self employed. Started subbing for a 'mate' who knocked...
i had a scutch chisel sds attachment, made chasing out a breeze! I wouldn't be without my wall chaser now. when i was on the cards the boss had an erbaur (sp) one and it was the nuts! when i left it accidentally ended up with me and its finally died last week so im off on the hunt for a new one...
Last time i got something like this it was because the walls were made with tin gypliner and foil backed plasterboard. Screwed through cable on one side of the room and another one t'other. Because of metal studding i was getting around 0.1M ohms between the two circuits, and also between N and...

Hi all.. I have been self employed for the past year but mainly working for a single company with only a handful of my own jobs. I am starting to get fed up working for this guy so decided its time to set up on my own. I know there is already loads of posts like thsi on here but i've spent...
Hello all, ive been reading through this forum for quite a while and found loads of really useful stuff, except this:I am 17th ed qualified but i dont have my 2391 yet. I have been told i can still test my industrial installations without it as 2391 is more directed at domestic use??Does this...
