Possibly, he is only installing Main breaker on the DNO side, and i suppose it would be up to the installer to put in a board with RCD/RCBO, etc to protect the circuits.
Surely if the Line conductor was snagged on the CPC/Earthed metalwork there would be an extremely low reading due to the fact no insulation is between the conductors and they are forming a circuit!!!! Technicaly giving you a R1+R2 reading??
Personnel opinion is put all in one board on the ground floor as stated above, unless you really need to have an upstairs i.e. seperate flat, rented etc...
Doesnt make sense all this messig around when you can just extend the circuits to the lower level.
Mine is already done, if the DNO ask ill say wife has started a few DIY jobs around the house :hurray:, get out of jail free card !!!
But seriously why u need to take all the tails out for a board change, surely the 2 going to the load would have been sufficient...first time changing the board...

How much it cost these days for annual fee?
You need to get a spark to look at it, if the circuit has no RCD, then one is fitted and it keeps tripping/doesnt pass testing, circuit needs rewiring then you are talking a few more pennies then £80 quid, that would be coming out of your pocket for not qouting correctly too remember!!!
If all...
I like your idea biff and mix it in with chocca's, Thomas123 hope i never need to work with your company haha
Thx a lot guys its been great to hear different views.
I think C&G should be ashamed they have made it easier by splitting it up so personnel who havent a clue can study a section then pass a course then study another and pass, pass it all at once numpties!!!!
If you have the knowledge and understanding of how things should be done proffesionally...
Why EIC ?
The EIC is to be used only for the intial certification of a new installation or for an addition or alteration to an existing installatoin were new circuits have been introduced?
I am chainging light fitting (in effect) not altering any circuits or making new ones.
So a Minor works...
Thanks a lot for all your input, it is a remomve old fitting and replace with LED fitting job, so if i enquire if they want to test from the SWA to the DB (if not bonus), just do earth cont and IR for the post and then Zs as per a minor work cert for every circuit this should be more than...
