Proof that it is possible to install a BG CU tidily.

I’ve never understood how some sparks can make a DB look bad to be honest. It’s not exactly rocket science to make straight lines with the cables 😆

    Schneider Vigi RCBOs

Exactly that, the 63A 30mA RCD attachments - sorry, thought these were specifically called Vigi devices!

    Schneider Vigi RCBOs

Anyone used these? Come with a really short fly lead on, impossible to reach the neutral bar. Shouldn’t be required to extend, should come with more length like a standard iKQ RCBO does for example!

What happens to the voltage/current on the neutral wire?

    “Ubiquitously”. Cracking word.

What might this wired object be?

    Inspect and Test Question

Most recent NIC test sheets have it so your earth loop test carried out at the origin of supply would be your Ze. Earth loop carried out at the main switch in any fuse boards would be your Zdb Zs would be your earth loop tests at end of circuits

    Running Cables in Purlins

Sorry missed that There will probably be an initial run of 8-10 cables so im not sure whether girder clips would be the best option

    Running Cables in Purlins

any chance you can find a link? Can’t get girder clips out of my head if they’re the same thing, different name but then again, I thought girder clips could only hold 1 cable as well.

    Running Cables in Purlins

Sounds like everyone’s in agreement with purlin clips but not sure whether I’m getting the right picture in my head. Are you suggesting to use purlin clips/hangers like these and run the cables through them? If yes, does it not look terrible when in place? My initial idea was to just lay the...

    Does this look safe?

Maybes suggest getting a different electrician to the one who carried out the recent EICR as they’ll more than likely say it’s OK again

    Running Cables in Purlins

Hello Couldn’t find anything in the forums on this and thought I would have… Large warehouse, minimal power circuits, two or three lighting circuits, max of 5 three phase circuits. Would it be acceptable to run these within the metal purlins at roof level and tied in place or would tray hung...

Can you fit 25mm conduit to a 20mm back box?

Just had a quick look at these, they look good. Have you seen the Milwaukee power tool which does the same thing? Very impressive but very expensive at the same time for what it does. The Q Max cutter looks a great alternative. It says to use and Allen key or spanner/socket set to tighten up but...

Adding RCD protection to obsolete MCBs

Is there an obligation to have a main switch ahead of the RCBOs in the enclosure?

Adding RCD protection to obsolete MCBs

I was thinking about the width of 2P RCDs and how the enclosures would need to be larger. Only have limited space adjacent to each DB.
