Hi guys,
Just a question in case any of you know the answer before I spend a lot of time hunting.....
I am after a Black half lantern PIR outside wall light with the facility to switch on via another switched live. I have run a 3-core and earth to the fitting.
Does anyone know of a place I...
Hi there,
I went to change a faulty dimmer switch for someone today but after taking the 3-gang plate to pieces, I found the current dimmers have a longer spindle compared to regular ones. I have had a look and have found Varilight do one. Does anyone know if Hamilton do one as I want their LED...
Hi there,
I am having trouble locating a fan isolator pull switch(3-pole). It needs to be in the style of brushed chrome, nickel or stainless steel. Any ideas?
Thanks in anticipation.
Dave.
Off the top of my head i seem to recall there was a voltage there when i rotated the timeclock. There was that wiring mess in the programmer and I haven't even looked in the wiring center yet!
Would I be right in saying that the Drayton LP241 should be fit for the job either way?
Many thanks...
Hi guys,
I'm in need of a little assistance if at all possible. My client is looking to replace her old randall 3060 programmer:
I was looking to swap it for a drayton lifestyle model, maybe a LP241. I just need a little help with the wiring as i have identified P.live (T6), Neutrals(T1+7)...
It's switching an oven supply. I'm resigned to the fact of fitting a separate switch for it. just thought it would look better in grid. I could put a switch operating a contactor but there is no room by the fuseboard.
Hi guys,
Does any of you know if anyone does a 45A DP switch module (obviously for grid)?
I would quite like to fit one along with other more common modules. I fear I may be out of luck here.
Here's hoping,
Dave.
Hi there,
I have just priced up to install a load of commercial style round LED downlights (18w) in a clubhouse. I have allowed for non-dimmable and a couple of emergency fittings. After saying at the quotation stage that they didn't want dimmable they now want to know the how much it would cost...
Thanks for the much appreciated input guys! Just an update. They are big slabs of oak, so not to bad to drill through. Although i did stock up on some spade bits! I decided to use a spade bit for around the edges and then used a reciprocating saw to cut through the rest. It took about half an...
Nice quick replies! Thanks very much! I do have a multi cutter. They are standard blades so not sure if they will do the 60mm deep that is required. I will.have to check in the morning!
Hi there. I am just about to start a job that entails installing a load of brick style lights into railway sleepers. Any thoughts on the best way to cut the hole out? I was thinking of drilling a load of holes with a wooden spade bit inside the shape of the hole then chiselling any corners out...
Hi there,I am in need of a bit of assistance with trying to trace a make for these sockets. They are flatplate antique brass I think but no idea of who makes them. I need to source one as they have a faulty one.
Many thanks in anticipation,
Dave.

Just an update to those interested. Spoke to the NICEIC man on the blower and he agreed with both of my proposals. And he confirmed that the cpc of the 10mm T+E feed is indeed not large enough!
Kind Regards,
Dave
Thanks for the input guys. Much appreciated. I haven't measured the EFLI at the first D.B with the supplied earth. The maximum permitted Zs for a 50A 1361 fuse is somewhere between 0.96 Ohms (45A) and 0.70 Ohms (60A). I can't seem to find any info for a 50A fuse to hand. If i add the resistance...
