    I've put my amplifier right next to the aerial in the loft and kept the coax well away from other cables.

    Well, someone used a length of 2.5mm twin core and earth cable in a hosepipe buried 2 inches below ground and yesterday my wife thinking it was a tree root cut through it with a pair of loppers.

    That's what I say, you can be as qualified as you like, but it doesn't necessarily mean you're going to do a proper job. That's down to person doing the work having pride in their work, but that's true of all trades.
