Best zonal smart control for underfloor heating (wet)

Depends what you are looking for, and your budget. I'm a big fan of Honeywell (Resideo) Evohome. Quite expensive, but flexible and the touch screen controller is intuitive and fast to use, it can work totally stand alone, not requiring an internet connection like many 'smart' heating controls...

Extension lead wired into 63A TP+N MCB/Main Switch

Those 3 phase outgoing wires look really thin to be connected to a D63 MCB!

Tell the office idiots that changed the cable colours that.

UK 3 Phase Motor Star/ Delta phase conversion

The control circuit (if any) should be suitably connected to the IO terminals of the inverter to start/stop the motor, a relay may need to be used if the inverter is expecting to be controlled by a dry contact. The motor should be directly connected to the inverter as most inverters will throw...

    Coloured "Henley blocks" from Lewden

Yes 3mm but the sizes varied from 3mm to about 3.5mm in the ones I've seen, so 3mm hex tool didn't fit well on some of the terminals.

    Coloured "Henley blocks" from Lewden

I hate the Proteus blocks, the hexagons in the terminal screw heads are often all slightly different sizes.

Heating a Copper Tube via Nichrome

How about wrapping the pipe with mica-paper tape then winding the element onto that?

50v on swa banjo ? TNC-S system new build

Sounds like the armour isn't connected to earth and is picking up voltages capacitively from the cores.

    Click Mode Drop in Quality?

We have had a few click mode products where the terminal screws have been tightened so hard in the factory that an impact driver was needed to loosen them. The fan isolators are no longer modular either. We moved to click from crabtree after the quality of the capital range got so bad and the...

It would be safer to put the cable in the scrap pile.

Insulation Resistance Testing Am2 - requires to be tested twice

I think that's the rough idea, though the sensitive equipment IS connected for the second test, and no insulation test is carried out L-N for that test. That's how we do it anyway. If the equipment can't take 250V between live conductors and earth, it shouldn't be connected to the supply at all...

You would have to be quite stupid to think that soft plastic would survive the temperatures found in an oven. That's an amazing bulb to still be working!

UK Why is it so quiet??!

I'm in Devon, it's non stop here. I'm currently working 6-7 days a week. We've been lucky not to have slowed down in some years.

UK Lose of power/continuity after lightening strike.

That sounds quite minor all things considered, I've attended properties after a strike only to find parts of the wiring had 'disappeared' the copper completely vaporising, holes blown in pipes where bonding clamps were attached, PCB tracks also vaporising in appliances, electric meters catching...

Best 3 phase board and a question

I like Shneider, especially the new Isobar P PON boards, Eaton is nice to install too. I don't like Hager 3ph boards due to the flimsy enclosure and small enclosure depth.

    Is my ASUS Laptop fixable?

If it is more than a few years old it's often better to buy a new one rather than spending money fixing an old - out dated one. I've just had to repair a 12 year old laptop for a relative, total waste of money. The computer is not designed to run windows 10 that is on it and as a result it is...

The metal plates and backboxes all need to be earthed as well, some of the photos suggest this may not have been done.
