None of my searches have given up a slotted PZ2 impact bit and a standard PZ2 will chew up pretty quickly leaving the next guy or gal to sort the mashed heads
Noticed one of the old hands doing this recently; using an impact driver (rattler) to to tighten the slotted PZ2 screws in a newly installed board. Never occurred to me that you could but when I (very discreetly) checked them with a conventional screw driver they were all spot on.

Opinions appreciated on this one.
Garden in approximately a square, 20 metres pr side
The board is under the stairs and I'll run a 6aRCD protected feed behind the units to the rear wall and into the garden; everything outside in Schneider boxes filled with Ray Tech Gel

Spot on! I give a morning when I can, to our local foodbank which leads to little jobs and to err... you get the picture. The more we share, the less the scalpers like CaT, Rated Popes and MyBulldozer will be able to drive down rates.
That's interesting! I found the opposite. New build suburban houses were fine but commercial sites; especially London centre ones which involve dragging a 30Kg tool-case every day on the tube were hell! Lost of manual labour followed by hanging about waiting for ..... just about anything. Pull a...
That is really useful - thank you. Thinking about our trade; I'm reluctant to become the dodgy DIYer in another skilled area whilst recognising that, if I can communicate with a good surveyor I may avoid the pain and expense of unforeseen issues.
Unfortunately bitter experience has shown that, just as there are drive-by EICR's, similar scams happen in house surveys. RICS are just a fully paid-up protection racket for the unscrupulous. Just as well that'd never happen in the field of electrics ;)
OK, Stop laughing at the back!
SO, I'm house hunting and, ignoring the number of beautifully decorated houses with rubbish electrics - I also want to be aware of any damp issues. This led me to try using the trusty Megger with sharp probes to test for damp. This appears to work, or at-least is...
Does this happen with anything / everything else on the board on? Could be the major leakage is elsewhere but 5 - 10 miliamps earth leakage from the oven is enough to hit the limit of a 30mA RCD. What 's the ramp test for the RCD? Finally, does it happen with the oven empty? I had one that...
Just resurrecting this in the hope it'll be of some use and encouragement to anyone just starting. Drove myself spare testing these parasitic websites.

The best. I chose it over the 1720 and I think it was the Bluetooth and earth stake test that made the difference. The Bluetooth doesn't work and even Megger admitted that off-the-record. Suggest you download the correct PDF manual, print it and add your own notes. A set of lightmates is useful...
Love my 1730; bought it used as ex-demo in good nick and no certificate for £500. CEF calibrated it for about £40 plus vat and a train fair - the cheapest I could find anywhere. Could be viewed like an MOT on a used van; something that says "working and ready to go".
Been looking at these to go on the van. Would this fit your requirements? Has the tone gen. If not, a friend had a excellent one he bought from TLC for around £200. I'll see if I can find out what.
