Lightning strike damaged 2 AFCI breakers. What to check after replacing breakers and testing outlets

My suggestion is to replace the AFCI breakers. Make sure that the power is off before you replace the breakers. Look at the name brand of the panel to insure you get the right breakers. Good luck and sorry for the delay in responding. Welcome to the forum.

    American Phase Colours

I never said that the NEC required these colors. If you used the color coding that you said in industrial and commercial jobs you would probably get run off. We are not in Motorola.

On 480 volt 3 phase power then use brown, orange and yellow for phases. On 208/102 three phase the phase arrangement is black, red and blue. Hope this helps and welcome to the forum. Good luck

Split Underground 12/2 UF cable between 2 sheds

That would be fine if you install a junction box on 1 Shed and then come out of the box to feed the other shed. Do not splice underground without the proper junction box which is required to have access to it. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

    Changing switch to combo switch/outlet

Without the existing wiring not shown we can’t tell you why the receptacle is not working.

    Changing switch to combo switch/outlet

I can tell you that the 2 black screws are for the switch and the gold and silver screws are for the receptacle. I hope this helps and welcome to the forum.

Devices Randomly turn off and back on quickly

There is several things that could cause this and as stated above it could possibly be a loose connection on 1 of your phases in either the panel or meter base or possibly the power company is having issues on their side. I agree with @littlespark that you need to get an electrician to check...

Which interlock Kit is compatible ?

First off the inspector is correct that you are not allowed to ( modify the panel or any parts ). My Suggestion to you would be to go to an electrical parts house to get the correct one. The lock down kit is required on breakers with incoming power not going out. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

    THWN-2 defect, nylon sheath delam

I have seen wires pulled into conduit that actually peel the plastic wrap back like that. You mentioned that it come off the reel like that so the supplier would probably give you different wire but then you would have to pull it out and replace it. I wouldn’t think that it would be worth the...

    MC against heating pipes?

There is nothing in the 2023 edition of the NEC that says that you can’t use MC cable around boilers. I’m guessing that it is a requirement for the county or state that recommends that MC cable not be used on boilers. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Does 48v DC running Into my residence have to be in metal conduit?

2 inch PVC would be acceptable for 4/0 wire but installing 90 degree bends makes it a lot harder to pull. Are you using aluminum or copper wire?

    Electrical car hookup question

If you have a spare fuse holder available which could possibly be dedicated to a stove then yes you can add an outlet. Do you have a panel outside beside your meter and the old fuse panel. That will determine how much it will cost. What amperage are you wanting to use for 240 volt.

    Determination of Wire Voltage Rating

If it is stamped 600 volt on the wire then it is rated for 600 volts so you should be good but touching on @Marvo reply don’t trust amazon when buying wire.
