You need a 30 amp double pole breaker for your water heater using 10/2 with ground romex cable. Since it is a pushmatic breaker you will need to contact a local electrical parts supplier to provide you with this breaker. I highly doubt that you will find it in any local Lowes or Home Depot. Good...
Sorry for the late reply but as far as the NEC 2023 edition says is that the first panel after the meter you are allowed to terminate both the grounds and neutrals on the same bar. Any panel being subfed from the main panel is required to separate the grounds from the neutrals. Hope this give...
Sorry for the late reply but if you are installing it in your attic you shouldn’t have to install it in conduit. Make sure it’s stapled every 4 feet. Please don’t nail the staples in so hard it touches the cable. Good luck and welcome to the forum.
To start with you have to understand that you are looking at 2 different calculations with the first one being your calculated load which is the size of the breaker and the second is your actual connected load. Having said that all the breakers you named are probably not being used at the same...
The best I can tell you is the bathroom receptacle is required by the NEC to be GFCI protected. If you only have 1 GFCI receptacle it should be protected by that circuit. Do you have receptacles on the outside of your home. It possibly could be on that circuit because it should be GFCI protected...
Welcome to the forum and sorry for the late reply but it sounds like all you need is a 2 gang box for 2 switches. The refrigerator needs its own 20 amp circuit and every receptacle on and around your countertop has to be GFCI protected. Good luck with your project.
Sorry for the delay but I’m guessing that you already have your power back on but if a breaker trips you have to turn it completely off and then back on to reset the breaker.
I’m not trying to insult your intelligence but could it possibly be that you have a breaker off in your main panel. Possibly a tripped breaker which would have to be turned completely off and then back on to reset the breaker. It should be a 20 amp single pole breaker. Welcome to the forum and I...
You could install a SPD in the herb garden panel but it doesn’t protect against lightning. IT’s primary purpose is to protect surge’s from the power company which can happen when the power is out and suddenly comes back on.
Your new switch is black for the hot, white for the neutral and red is your load which will be for the light. If you need any other advice let us know.
No because it is being fed from your main panel which has an SPD protection. If you was to have a surge in power everything coming from the main panel will be protected. Sorry for the delay in response and welcome to the forum.
I actually have never heard of a double three way switch but in box # 1 is an easy fix but in box # 2 is a different story. How many screws do you have on the double three way switch. If you have 4 screws then it is a basic double pole switch and not a 3 way. I can help but let’s figure out what...
You can read the insulation type printed on the wire and it will have if it’s rated for wet locations. I would put it in the sun and let it dry out. It should be fine
Honestly I will have to say as far as the amperage that the home will ever pull would still not reach 100 amps or more. As far as the safety aspect of is does it have equipment grounds for the circuits? If anyone does any work in that panel then it will have to be brought up to the NEC 2023 code...
I’m a little confused but most electrical companies will probably pull romex cables to each dedicated circuits, so about 10 separate cables. All grounds should be connected at the panel and the loads. Maybe if you requested the circuits be in conduit then that’s a different story. In my opinion...
You are correct about that wire being # 10 and it actually needs to be # 3 copper for a 100 amp breaker. At the footage you explained you definitely have a voltage drop also.
