    UK IP 65/IP44

What do you mean by 'all 3 poles won't be disconnected'? Total isolation of a machine is required, where ever, in general locally. In distribution boards, I've had situations where changing 3036's to 88's removes the asbestos problem. May be different with the switchgear.

    Will The Terminologies Start Changing?

Don't get on to driving, it's all left hand here with right hand drive vehicles...

    Will The Terminologies Start Changing?

That basic stuff takes me back to the blackboard and chalk days. But even that's taboo these days. BTW, is a transplant one which bends both ways?

    Will The Terminologies Start Changing?

I must admit that as a teenage apprentice, in the 70's, asking for nipples or male/female bushes at a wholesalers didn't produce the slightest thoughts of any sexual connotation. It never has since, either. They were, and still are, electrical equipment parts and always had been, simple as that...

    Will The Terminologies Start Changing?

So tutors are wary of mentioning male and female bushes? God help us!

True gender benders.. surprised nobody's come up with 'coax' as the latest gender term.

    Old light switches wiring

We can see what is going on from your photos. You obviously don't understand the 2-way wiring method involved. Don't take as red all you reed online. As above (and previously) professional help is advised.

    Old light switches wiring

Just get a pro in to sort it, Malcolm. I see you're in London, though. A couple of hours' all in......ÂŁ400ish??? Oh, Plus a tenner for mats.;)

    Old light switches wiring

No Neutral involved. Any cables with red sleeving should be switched lives, in this case 'strappers' for a 2way light. Why do you ask? Are you changing the switches? That back box lug on the 1 gang doesn't seem to be in the best of health.

hand tools when your old and falling apart

I used to like the old Stanley Yankee, long before pozi's or battery drills/drivers. It's hidden away somewhere. That used to save some time first first fixing. Don't think it would be much good for richy, though...could be a bit vicious, that thing.
