It wasn't the worst I seen over the weekend. Took the kids to Cumbria zoo whilst over there, and the toilets by the giraffes just had twin clipped to the tile groute to a speaker. And the hand dryer had about about 8 inch of twin with 3 inch of trunking on it just floating in mid air to a...
A cottage we rented over the weekend in Arnside (Lakes) had a plug by the door inzide the bathroom. Looked older than me, being sad I almost took a picture to post on here.
I wouldn't rule out a bad kit. Check the terminations to make sure they crimped to the wire and not the insulation. But without a multimeter or anything else, it's all guess work.
Maybe pull a bulb from the rear lights and hold it across the wires and try to compare the brightness of being...
Fair grounds etc I would generally assume run off of a gene.
All my gene setups ran to a GIU which handles the making and breaking of the feeds to the C/U/L/DU units from multiple genes. The system had adjustable time delay RCDs in along with MCBs relevant to the output socket type, ie. 400v...
You joke about it, but I kid you not, this came up on my course today. It was the instructor making the comment when he was talking about male and female threads on conduit.
I assume it has a 12v battery? Just run a lighter socket with some reasonable gauge wire and an inline fuse on the positive lead to somewhere convenient
Those LEDs will have a bridge rectifier in them if they are 230v. If you reverse the polarity they won't turn on. And depending on how much chineseium was used in the manufacturing, they could already be cooked.
You really shouldn't plug them in to measure voltage if it's kicking out 230v. With the plug pins facing you, the bottom right pin is live and the bottom left is neutral. Tap out as before and you will know what is live and neutral at the other end using resistance again. No need to risk a...
Only reason I can think of for the 3rd wire is to keep the other lights if one goes. Like the posh Christmas lights from 20+ years ago. My own festoon lights are 230v that have a similar connector. Unless you have crocodile clips to do it hands free, I really wouldn't recommend trying to measure...
Thanks for the responses. It was seeing one of Nick Bundy's videos yesterday that sparked the question. Now he has gone sole trader with no apprentice etc, he has unregistered for VAT.
My accountant will deal with the taxes etc.
My ask here is has being VAT or not VAT registered impacted your ability to get work in the domestic setting. Has the additional 20% VAT priced you out of a reasonable chunk of work?
