    18th Edition - Exam only

Got the resit for free too lol normally £50 apparently. Think it’s due to the scathing comment I left on one of their LinkedIn posts haha Though the talk around town is almost everyone that sat it with me, failed it. Even the college lecturers lmao

    Quotes Estimates and pricing

I just list down everything and give a final price for domestic. For commercial customers I tend to do labour and materials plus mark up. I find listing prices for each item can at times back fire as customers can’t see how long or awkward something takes, they just see the price charged for...

    18th Edition - Exam only

My local college dropped C&G for some logic Certification crowd. The pass for the 18th was 75%, and the exam was as hard as frig. I couldn’t understand loads of the questions at all. Yet got 93.33% 11 months earlier on 17th AMD3 with C&G. I’m doing an exam resit on 14/12/18. 9:30-11:30...

    Angle drill for joists

I have the Dewalt angle drill, use it occasionally and when you need it you’re so glad of it. But for everyday multiple drilling I don’t see it standing the test. You could get the flexvolt version of the holehawg, and batteries are backwards compatible with the 18v range if you’re already...

    Highest paying specialty?

The OP should do stand up, he’d make a fortune. 4K a week from requires is certainly easy to do. But take out your materials and overheads and wages to other boys and you’ll be luck to have 25% of that by the end lol

Domestic - What do you normally use?

Oval all the way, why make extra work by chasing deeper for round conduit. TVs I’d use trunking chases into the wall.

    Constant battle with dryliners....

I’m on a job with boys like this, they’ve been doing lots of trades the whole job, and I’ve had issues with it all, but now the painter is on site and he’s well in with the owner and has been going mad as they’ve done so many things now.

What van to buy as a newbie

@Midwest thats why I went with the factory crew van, though the 6th seat jumps the insurance way up in price.

What van to buy as a newbie

Renault Master crew van would be my thoughts, easy to get in and out of the rear, high enough to stand up in, and enough space in the rear as a vivaro van so can fit steps in easily, I have a 350 transit crew and it’s ok, but hard on fuel, and high at the rear so you need a step to make it...

What cabling system do you prefer in commercial/industrial environment?

Proper spray booths originally had the fluorescent fittings behind sealed glass units. You removed a panel outside to access for maintenance. I’d imagine you’d need to use vapourproof fittings at a minimum for such a room.
