    Cheap Multifunction Tester

Yes I would agree purchase a good second hand unit rather than a cheap new unit. Give it a new set of leads and calibration and all's well.

Vaulted ceilings ..... late decision .... grrrrrr

Just finished a very large house with 15 vaulted ceilings, added a twin LED tape at the spring point to uplight and worked fantastic. All wiring in underfloor screed floor tray and conduit up to each socket, wired in 4mm singles. Where we needed large pendant fitting some over 120kg they were...

Government backs mandatory EICR's every 5 years for landlords.

I find it interesting the amount of electrical insurance policy's that do not automatically allow you to carry out Periodics on work you did not originally install. Without charging you loads more on your policy due to the higher risks involved. Have any of you guys checked your policy recently...

New member desperately looking for advice

Plus for those doing 3rd party testing does their insurance company cover it. Often insurance companies only allow you to test your own jobs for periodic inspections too. So always ask your insurance company better safe than sorry.

At the cinema, you learnt anything yet?!!

Yep, cost us a fortune for very little. Rather than the theatricals would have been better to explain surge protection at the DB. T1/T2 and then again to AC items on a roof as it leaves a zone etc. Think I need to learn more about that. They used an example of T3 surge to protect a FA Panel...
