I know what you mean. I’ll have a look at those - I’ve not used one yet. It’s good to talk. Thankyou.

    Electric shower pull switch isolator

Another vote for the Crabtree 50 amp. Superb. I pretty much insist on them after being called to a house after a fire brigade call out to a very much burnt out 45 amp switch. So I put a Crabtree in. The best I could get the shower to pull was 40 amp and all the connections were very secure in...

....and if neutrals are taken as ‘live’ then all those houses where a separate neutral without CPC has been run around the lights..... How big is this van?

Trouble is the customer needs to know that work needs to be compliant with the regs, and Part P. How many customers know that they should be expecting certificates or could have difficulties if they or their electricians don’t notify? Not enough public knowledge. I suspect the guy throwing...

?! Who knows. It’s a bit strange because it looks like someone has grabbed a 4mm earth from somewhere when they could have the CPC in the pvc/pvc. I don’t think it was for bonding. All fixed now but what a mess. Almost wilfully poor.

Wouldn’t mind but it’s in the loft of a house my wife has just purchased. The extractor fan with no outlet under hidden under the insulation was a bit naughty, and yes that’s a 10mm cable going through a 30amp jb for the shower. Grrrrr.

What's the best way to become a fully qualified electrician earning a good wage?

Interesting sample size of one from each. The simultaneous equations are still very much in the curriculum. Taught in year 9 or sometimes sooner, and it's easy enough. Here's a 'key point' in the 2365 level 2 textbook; "If something doubles in size it is two times (*2) as large. If it halves...

Downlights lath and plaster ceiling advice please

You have good advice there already. Would definitely agree the outcome is unpredictable. I have put plenty in where no filler or patching is required, and its always a sigh of relief, but only this week had a bit of disaster where plenty of plaster came away and left me with a mess to patch up -...
