    Emergency light wiring

Surely the existing fittings can’t be emergency without a permanent feed. 1573981706 You could change the switch to a key switch that will give you a permanent feed and can also be used for testing the fittings.

    Zs and parallel paths...

Your Zs will go down if you have parallel earth paths. For this example let’s say we have a Zs of 0.2 ohms at your consumer unit and a circuit with equal sized conductors for line and cpc. You measure your R1+R2 and get 0.8 ohms so we know then that the line conductor is 0.4 ohms and the cpc is...

    Trade pics for your enjoyment.

So here was today’s task getting a Schneider MCCB Panel unloaded and built up. The panel came in 3 sections with all MCCB’s installed. The largest section being 2M high, 1.95M wide and weighing 640Kg. It had to be turned on it’s side to squeeze it in. Not much room lol and then there was the...

UK Should I be worried? Induction hob installation

To be fair the electrics aren’t the issue here. Yes the black wire could be inserted a bit further into the choc block and the choc block put into a choc box but the problem seems to be the dirt below the hob. Try vacuuming all that loose dirt away before your new hob goes in.
