4th floor, yikes! Hope there’s a lift.
We allow one hour to dismantle the old and install the new ( assuming there is already a 24hr supply there, longer if there’s not).
As for your price, only you can set that, but it looks fine to me.
Quantum’s have an extended guarantee if registered with Dimplex. How old is the heater. There’s lots more to go wrong on these compared to the older model storage heaters.
Thanks all for your thoughts. Probability suggests that he didn’t prove dead, but I was keen to get views on other possibilities.
Another salutary lesson hopefully learned.
As mentioned in my op, the/a circuit was locked off, but I couldn’t say for certain it was the correct one.
Tbh I was more interested in the possibility of something else causing the shock. The lad seemed genuine that he had locked off & tested for dead - he seemed to be in too much of a state...
So a bit of a story....
Was in checking out an office for its first EICR. Another company of electrical contractors was in adding some floor boxes.
Heard a yell and found a lad looking as if he’d seen a ghost, said he had got a massive belt when removing a radial circuit from an existing box...

There is only one fault per card.
The faults are ALL wiring faults (not things like a broken switch, faulty lamp etc).
So for example - a three phase motor runs, but not smoothly. What does this...
Oh dear, what a string of posts. OP, ideally you need to get experience working alongside some other electricians experienced in carrying out EICRs. C&G 2391 is the current qualification in inspection & testing covering both new installation and EICRs. Guidance Note 3 is an excellent purchase to...
You “only” need to find short circuit, open circuit, reversed polarity and earth fault. Only one of these faults will be present for each question. If you think about it, all of these can be found using a continuity tester. Read the question thoroughly as it gives real clues where to look and...
The NICEIC certificate requires confirmation that you have met the relevant building standards applicable to the work you have carried out. So this covers things like openings in structural elements etc.
As for the op, I’m hoping he’s in the clear!
I ain’t getting into a debate, but in mho, the requirement for supporting cables in escape routes was introduced in the 17th Edition, the regs are not retrospective, therefore if installed before the requirement, C3.
