Got a call out to a house where the RCD tripped instantly when the MCB was turned on for the kitchen ring. Investigated the fault, located it was something load side of the boiler fused supr. Took the cover off the boiler to check the wiring and find this:

If it only trips when you turn the MCB on, it indicates the line conductor that has been cross-linked.
