Typically this means, when he posts new threads, you get notified. It could notify you every time he posts, depends on how the site is set up.

no here it is the like button means like

[ElectriciansForums.net] following people

Still not convinced anything is happening I picked Pete999 as he is an active member on here I have had no notifications at all.
@ GMES I can see you follow people do you get alerts?
@Dan Can you enlighten me at all ?

Ps following GMES now so are we going around in circles

Cheers Mykey

It's almost like a friend request. I just do it so I can keep my eye on the troublesome ones :D.
So if I'm not following you you're of no interest to me lol. I can see people frantically searching now to see who is following them lol
Also if there's a lot of members on at once it shows you the people you follow as they are separated from all the other members.

last time i was separated from others was solitary confinement in a padded cell.

I'm waiting for @westward10 to clock this as I've just started following him:)

On the old forum on a mobile the follow button was at the point on the screen where you swiped up so you ended up following 50 people by the end of a good forum search. Doesn't happen anymore. I always felt uncomfortable if people noticed me unfollowing them!
