    Cable that can't be removed

Blimey there are loads of unused cables in my walls! As long as disconnected both ends then no biggie. Then you can figure out how best to run in your new cable!

    Crossover in ring circuit

I couldn't disagree with you more. Ring finals are a very versatile circuit, when used in the right situation. Sure, I install more radials than I used to, but a 32A ring is often preferable to say a 32A 4mm radial, which you'd struggle to install in a compliant manner unless clipped direct...

One way of earthing the pipes.....

Bob, why do you keep throwing the 'dumb' rating around? It's hardly helpful.

How is a generator earthed and given neutral?

Think about the negative terminal on a battery as well, the circuit works but it ain't earthed!

    Crossover in ring circuit

Upton, if a load is half way round a ring final, the current will flow 50/50 along each leg, but if the load is closer to the DB on one leg, more current will flow on the shorter leg due to that shorter leg's lower impedance. Beaten to it by Spinlondon who did a better job than me anyway..!

    Shower Consumer Unit Wiring

If I'd known how much old colours stuff would be worth today, I would have put a load in storage back in the day.

    Crossover in ring circuit

I think in reality it's highly unlikely that an incorrectly wired ring in a domestic setting would ever see high enough loading of sufficient duration to actually cause any cable damage. Seen a fair few 2.5mm^2 and even a few 1.5mm^2 radials on 30A/32A OCPDs and don't recall seeing any evidence...

    Shower Consumer Unit Wiring

This doesn't make sense to me. He is the electrician, and for an electrician this is a quick job. He would, I'm sure, be much happier doing the whole job himself. It may take him as long to check what you've done and rectify any errors than to do it himself. He should only be willing to put his...

Need some advice and to introduce myself

I don't fit split load boards any more, never liked them. In this case, you're talking about only two circuits, so two RCBOs won't break the bank.
