    RCBO for outside lights tripping. Turned out that all the brick lights had the backs cut out of them and this was the attempt at a waterproof connection - Heat-shrink over connector block with some silicone on each end.

    Voltage tester question

    If you used a voltage tester to touch L-E does it allow the 230V to actually flow to earth or does it use a smarter means of calculating voltage without requiring a current to pass? In theory, could you damage a connected item downstream?

    So the answer was.... Crabtree Series 7000. It's a grid switch. Never seen one before, in the trash it goes.

    Good call. Must admit the design looks spot on but I can't find a 3 gang grid version online. Almost certain the brand is correct. What an odd little switch.
