What was different about the other PC? (Different Operating System, Serial / USB Port etc.)
It would be good to know.... if I ever have to update mine (I had the Amendment 3 update completed with the last calibration)
The brand is :- Xingfu (it's in the Amazon link under "Technical Details") and the same physical device seems to be available under a number of different badges as seen in the "Sponsored products related to this item" section of the web page.
There are only two reviews for the linked item both...
Sounds like it :D
Might be cheaper to rent an industrial unit with the proper setup.
By the time you've altered you're domestic setup the bottom may have fallen out of the market!
Or getting in on one of the "lease" schemes.
On data cables I'd only use clips where there was no alternative and then use "overlarge" staple / clips (so as not to crush the twisted pair).
Data cables tested with a cable analyser (such as the Fluke DSX Series) for certification, may fail after being clipped too tightly.
I have a Trade Direct Insurance version of the Trade Point card, although there isn't a lot of discount (if any) on electrical items a lot of other single purchase items are sold at the multi-pack price.
You can use your Trade Point card at any till (and the self service tills) but it's often a...
I've had some success with the TP-Link Powerline adapters (but also has some failures!)
Separate phases - definitely don't work
Separate circuits - all depends - RCD's, other "noisy" kit, long circuits etc. may not work.
Even had some success using wireless across phases / between halls, then...
No help but a comment
"The switches were the wrong way round (the one closest to the front door controlled the hallway and visa versa - not a problem just annoying"
- I had this discussion with a friend of mine this week - in my "logic" the switch closest to the door should be to the outside...

The simple way is NOT to use crimp plugs (unless absolutely necessary) but to terminate in punch down sockets and use a short patch lead.
If you cannot get away without crimping a plug be aware that there are two types of plug, one for solid conductors (for the "installed" cabling) and another...

Mmm... that seems to defeat the object of POE (which normally reduces the need for power supply at the camera position)
I saw the spec. mentions "power supply - DC 12v or built in POE" so I'd assumed from that description that the network lead would carry the power unless you hadn't got POE and...
Are you installing the POE injectors at the camera location?
Can't you install them at the system end? or use a POE Switch, if the CCTV systems doesn't have POE outputs on the internal network switch.
(or have I miss understood what you're trying to achieve?)
