Bonding a sink that isn't extraneous doesn't do anything to help the work done because it didn't affect the integrity of it or accessible from outside it. If the neutral was lost the whole zone would end up at the same level so that wouldn't be the additional hazard in most cases.
Bond/earth it...
Thing is you do all this and start getting annoyed because it's impossible to get the tiles all lined up as they seem to be different sizes once you get them on the wall! But then you look at the tiles in other people's houses and realise they're all worse;)
We did our own kitchen from a shell...
Op i like the idea of having the RCD up front of the metal db just in case. Otherwise no point in earthing the db as nothing will trip if the case becomes live due to a fault on the tails
You should only main bond things that are extraneous ie that might introduce a potential into the equipotential zone. To determine whether things are extraneous the easiest way is to test to the supplier earth.
Bonding other things causes additional hazards which although are low risk are still...
Given the amount of cooker hood or bathroom fans with crushed Flexi or leaking or with no fall in an unheated space or venting into the cavity/void, they should do something about it, but I've no idea if registration is the best answer.
Yes this ones been done to death, result is it's not a proper ring according to the informative appendix, but it can't cause an overload on the short leg as long as the joining point is more than iirc 15% of the way round the ring therefore it's ok in terms of minimise the chance of overload...
IGave you an optimistic but I'll give it a go! Basic protection in bs7671 is the primary insulation or other protection against live parts contacting anything else including yourself.
True that 1000V gloves could perform that task, but it's not really part of the installation so I'm not sure it...
An isolator only isolates the outgoing terminals. The fly lead is an incoming terminal.
If you turn off an isolator it only isolates the outgoing terminals. the incoming line terminal is certainly of course still at phase voltage, and if there is any circuitry the incoming neutral would be live...
Didn't notice any staining, the blu tac tends to stay in one lump.
Maybe "blew takk" from the 99p store would have that problem but i only buy the branded stuff from wh Smith;)
So the boiler has a double fault situation that can't be covered by bs7671, no earth and an l-e fault, therefore it's a very dange situation.
The towel rail and bathroom location is irrelevant, basically this is the"all conductive surfaces are dangerous" argument which is true, and applies...
True but that seems to only apply to "priority", the confusingly named "non priority" gives priority to the one that was switched on first which will be what the OP wants
"Garo shower non priority boards. Neither shower has priority, whichever shower is on first will remain on. The second...
