ELEX Exeter - what to buy?

Checking prices on amazon, noticed there listed as klien tools, surely their not made in USA now , that blighter trump will sack the price up. Had a plumber hit me with a bit of waste pipe while I was wearing my hardhat, bloody ears were ringing. Wasn’t giggling when I rattled his shins with two...

ELEX Exeter - what to buy?

Don’t think I’ve ever broken one . The threads get a bit knacked. It’s generally setting them down and they fall between insulation in lofts. I’ve had crappy pliers and screwdrivers that always find their way home, but when I lose rods they’ve had it. Usually a pack of 5 will last me 18 months...

ELEX Exeter - what to buy?

No substitute for super rods, but I always leave the accessories at my derriere. So now I just pick up a set of 5 reds for 25 quid.

Knipex installation pliers... Are they worth the money?

I’ve had them 3 or 4 years and although there good, I don’t think there a necessary buy. But to each their own. I like pliers and croppers separate.

Empoyees tools what should i supply

Hand tools looked after and used properly last forever, I go through screwdrivers because I'll use them for prying and bashing. My choice my responsibility. Power tools have to pay for themselves over the course of their life, a certain amount on every job allocated for paying and replacing of...

Sometimes you just have to work Saturdays.

Fitted a Wylex board Friday, they have changed their incoming switch to two screw clamp, looks kinda pathetic compared with their 810's

    Dewalt or Milwaukee tools

Always used dewalt never any bother, but could never get the jigsaw blades to stay in the chuck, had both jigsaw slide and stick pack same problem. Originaly went for dewalt 14 v because of metal chuck when others were plastic , stuck with them ever since. Most of the top brands are comparable.

    ACA - Approved Electricians Test

I sat mine around 2009, and one of the things which nearly caught me out, was Ze they required you to use a clear insulated mat which sat on the bottom of a trolley of tools provided. I had not used one before. Probably would have failed if another approved sparks hadn't set me on to that bit of...

I am not a tool tart just a practical person!

I can't get on with mine, but there too shiny to give away. The model I have was spring opening with a tab to hold it half closed, tab fell of very quickly and found spring a pain in the bum so removed it. There okay but still prefer pliers and croppers.

Veto pro pak xl to buy or not

I bought one recently, having previously scorned spending that much on a toolbag. They really are heavy duty. Recent jump in price has put me off trading up to an xl. The only tools I cant carry in it are my mash hammer and hacksaw. Saves dumping tools out a tote or box when searching for tools...

Plasterboard Back boxes 1st fix or 2nd fix

Appleby all the way, the worst I ever used was knights something or other I like Appleby for the smooth slide I hate the ratcheting ones. And when I've only got room for a side fix and no metal box I shave off the grip part and screw in through the side of the lug. Never found any that come close.

Plasterboard Back boxes 1st fix or 2nd fix

For light switches, when used with splashback and where there might be more than 1 accessorie between studs I use fastfix, only ever one brand as I've found all others useless. Everything else I use metal boxes. Plastering isn't prevalent up here except with English settlers.locally painters...
