Am2 exam failed on LIVE testing any guidance or help?

Hi Ian is correct on the AM2 the college wont let you test between phases and you need to just use the rule of thumb and double it. I dont think it is a fact that they are not capable of doing the test as when i did my AM2 i was more than capable but the college just dont want you to do it, i...

    downstairs lights looking for advice

I was going to state what is above aswell. Are you testing at the switch side of the celing rose? Not the loop in the middle? Also have you checked the continuity of the flex drop aswell as there may be a loose wire in the drop its self and are you sure the drop is not damaged. Try changing it.

    garage wiring alterations

I have seen this set up quite alot in the local housing association jobs. 2.5 t+e from 16A breaker to the supply side of the fused spur then from there down to a socket. Then 1.5 t+e from the load side of the fused spur to a pendant and a 5A fuse fitted in the fused spur all usually in conduit...

    Main bonding..... yet again!

Use a wander lead and test to the water pipe to the bonding conductor in the board if it is less that 0.05 ohms then i would say its fine and just note down that the clamp is inacessable to view or check. Also agree with tel above 0.05 is not the cable its to the pipe it is connected to as you...

AM2 exam is Monday Morning Need Help with PFC testing on 3 phase and rcbo testing on lightingcircuit

I would personally just take all the line/live out of the fused spur and connected them in the back with a wago thats how i did it but i suppose the way you describe would be fine aswell. When the board is live you are allowed to take the cover off it that does not necessarily expose live...

AM2 exam is Monday Morning Need Help with PFC testing on 3 phase and rcbo testing on lightingcircuit

When doing the ir test on the sockets just take the live out of the fuse spur and link it with wago in the back of the box to the live on the load side of the fuse spur as then you will test the full circuit as if you just turn it off or take the fuse out you will only be testing part of the...

Just relax mate when...

When you go into the AM2 the first thing you have to practically do is safely isolate the board but you still have power to the board on the incoming tails so you can still do the Ze test then add your R1+R2 to that to get your Zs. There is a few ways you can test the motor you either test the...
