Hi all .
Can I have some clarification please as seems a bit of a grey area when asking fellow sparks.
I'm an apprentice served sparks with cg part 1.2. C course . 2391. P.a.t. Etc . Working in the nhs for over 30yrs on industrial and domestic residences. I've been asked by a family member if I can install a new ring main in and industrial unit for his charity.
Question is can I install . Test .and certify myself .

Cheers for any replies .

Thanks for prompt replies guys. A lot seem to say I need to be registered to someone like niciec to be able to sign off the certificates .
No I don't have pl ins . Did say it would be at their own risk and acceptance for me to do the work .

Part p dont apply, so carry on and issue your own certificate using a blank template from online, as for insurance in the event you messed up and something went wrong you could be held liable, only you can gauge your ability and how good a friend your mate is and would he sue you if the proverbial hit the fan, no matter how unlikely???

Its the same really - done on levels of turn over and amount of cover - most tradesman need ÂŁ2 million of cover and it does vary a lot, depending on where you are and exactly what you do.

You can count this as a business expense when you do your SE returns.
