    Quick question re smoke detectors

    I personally think its better putting smokes on the lighting circuit for the reasons mentioned above, but either I suppose will do as even if they are on there own circuit and it trips the mcb then you will normally notice the green light not been there when you turn the lights off at night.

    If the socket was working before then i would say yes a live or neutral wire has come close in the socket so you will have to take it off again and check it wont be beause you have split the earths over the 2 terminals

    Does look a bit ---- to me. As for the henley blocks they seem to be 2 one for the neutral and one for the line, why not just get a bit of 25mm tails and put it in one hole and loop it into the other hole on the same block and do tbe same for the other block and there you have it no more holes...

    That has not happened yet so i am not sure i presume he would say it needs a board change. but we dont do the board changes it gets passed back to them and there own guys change it so he would only earn from the test any way so probily would not want that to happen

    as far as im away the niceic told him this about another job he was on and just made the blanket statement they should all be on rcbo/rcd, which i dont beleave. also yes the supp bonding was in place and every thing and i did give it a C3 but he still told me to change the mcb for a rcbo

    I have never really got that high result always lower than the main dno fuse so all good. if it was excessivly high then i would look into it a bit deeper and try to get a better figure. also mine comes to 52A which is a hell of a lot more than we use i recon we would be hard pushed to use...

    The way i was taught at college was to add all the breakers up and multiply by 0.4 (so 40 percent) thats what i did for my final exam at college and it was marked as correct so that is what i have done since.
