Yeah sounds like you could maby do with a upgrade in the kitchen if there tripping the mcb. And as for useing a breaker of a different make I'm honestly not sure about that maby one of the other lads can help with that one but I would say that it does state in the manufactures instructions...

Advice on replacing consumer unit and DIY rewire of kitchen

The way I took it it probily has a 2.5 radial on a 16 or 20 Amp and probily wants a 32Amp so needs a bigger csa wire or turning into a ring but I could be wrong that's just how I took it.

Advice on replacing consumer unit and DIY rewire of kitchen

I would say that the no rcd on the lighting circuit would be a c3 at the most as it is not at current regulations. But as far as I am aware it should not invalidate your insurance and does not need to be upgraded as just because there is no rcd it does not mean it is not safe. As for the rewire...

    Pictures of Board work

It definatly does not look aesthetically pleasing like we are trained to do from the start but I don't see any thing dangerous about it. It might look ---- but I bet it is electrically sound. I would never do a job like that but that been said it's done now, just shut the dB door and forget...

    Bonding Advice Needed

As it is just a small flat I presume there will only be 1 lighting circuit in each flat and as there will be a light in the bathroom that lighting circuit will need to be rcd protected in accordance with reg 701.411.3.3 of amendment 3 which states: "In specific locations such as those...

    AM2, NVQ3 changing provider

As long as you pass your Am2 fully I can't see how changing provider will effect that. A pass is a pass and once you have the cert they can't take it away from you just because you changed provider. I kind of did that I did all my stuff tech cert and nvq through hull college but I did not get...

Elec.. Guide.. Build.. Regs Table 4.1.2a - Is this a cooker mistake?

I personally use 6mm on 32A MCB but with people saying if the cooker and hobs are all turned on then this will damage the cable as it will draw too much current, remember that the hobs don't stay on full for the complete time you are useing it (well mine doesn't any way) it will go to the max...

    Site agents rule the world

It seems to be the way it is now. The last site I was on we had to wear steel toe cap boots with sole protection, hard hat, gloves, safety glasses and if we took any of them off at any time while on the actual work site (not canteen) then it was a warning 2 warnings and the 3rd you are off site...

    Electricians mate requirements

Make sure you have a cscs/ecs card that's the most important I would say. It would be beneficial to have any electrical qualifications (2356, NVQ's) any thing to do with electrical installation but ultimately as a mate you don't need them just experience is all that is needed. I have worked with...

    What are you doing/done today

I'm finishing off the 3 phase dis board, finishing the termination of the last few dozen circuits, should be fun haha. Also to @Midwest above the last bit about the smudge made me chuckle I use to be absolutely terrible for that during my first few years never mind smudges I use to put black...

Samsung S8+ .............25 characters or more ARGHH

I did hear about someone getting into a phone useing face detection with just a life size photo of them, that may have been why it was removed. Use the iris scanner it's a lot more secure than face detection.

Samsung S8+ .............25 characters or more ARGHH

Yeah I just looked online as I don't have the s7 now and apparently it was removed as they found out it was not safe enough, which I didn't know but when I first got. It it did have it, but under the option for smart lock is where it use to be but now it not there but there are other ways like...

Outdoor socket flush with the ground in the garden

If you put it flush with the ground woukd you still be able to plug stuff into it? Also ip 65 is protected from low pressure jets and if it is flush with the floor it might get slightly immersed in water (no fully) if it rains hard enough or drains back up which it is not rated for. I personally...

Do you mean iris scanner as if i remember rightly my s7 had face recognition/unlock. Yeah the fingerprint sensor was a lot more easy to use on the s7 but still my method of choice.
