    Shower isolator had burned out and was faulty. The existing shower circuit wasn't RCD protected so replaced the shower isolator with a 1 way consumer unit which had an RCD.

    Just a quick one.. I have been to a job today where the shower isolator switch had burnt out, as it wasn't RCD protected I replaced the switch with a 1 way consumer unit with an RCD. My question is..do I need to do a full EIC or would a minor works do? Cheers

    Single to three phase converters

    Has anyone had any experience of using these?? Any good?? Got a customer who wants to put a 3 phase 11kw chicken rotisserie into a shop with only a single phase consumer unit and doesn't want to spend 10 grand on getting a new supply.

    Incorrectly filled out EICR and the law.

    I told her walls had to be chased as I couldn't do a CU change without CPCs in place on the lighting circuit. Tails are fed from downstairs cut out in armoured cable, run surface through a cupboard, through some boxing in, then into a small electrical cupboard to another cut out with the meter.

    Yes..and got no reading as there is no main earth connected. I could only get a Ze reading between the CPCs and incoming L and N. 3 circuits connected Lights sockets and oven

    There's a socket circuit and a oven circuit, when disconnected from the MET on the upstairs board I get the same reading off both CPCs

    In the ground floor flat the gas and water bonding are connected into the consumer unit. The tails for the upstairs flat are taken off the ground floor cut out, there is no main earth going upstairs with the tails yet there is earth at the sockets.
