Amendment 3 escape routes and building control.

Straight forward really dude, make sure the window comes with a panel to supply it, if not they are easily sourced, actuators are usually 24VDC, and panel is triggered by fire alarm, ours on this current job are all via an interface on the addressable fire alarm, make sure the cable supplying...

Amendment 3 escape routes and building control.

We had the same problem recently, an existing building we were working in had to have the ceiling double boarded before the MF ceiling was then hung from that, our containment was fixed to that double boarded ceiling before the void was formed, I tried telling the site foreman that regardless of...

Self Build Advice Please - consumer units, sockets & switches...

I don't think this thread is all it appears to be to be honest!!! Why start a thread then say it can be locked? Once you've started the ball rolling it will roll and roll!

Self Build Advice Please - consumer units, sockets & switches...

I'd go ground source heat pump and forget those instant water heaters rated at 12kw, they are a daft option IMHO, but that is just my opinion.

    Day Rate for a Subby?

The subbies working with me at the minute are on £150 a day, get your rate upped! You can work a 4 day week with the difference, one thing I have noticed with subbies is that the standards vary massively, both in attitude and workmanship, but the pay is the same!!!

    PLC programming knowledge

Evening all, could anyone suggest a starting point for me in which I could start to read up and gain some underpinning knowledge on PLC programming as it's something I am interested in diversifying into, as I prefer the industrial side of work and it interests me. I've realised that if I'm...

That's a bit of thinking outside the box, both common sense and regs wise! Not to mention a bloody death trap!

    3 pirs in series

Scotty, as with wiring a simple light controlled by a PIR with a 3 core core between a fitting or joint box, an accessible one of course, I'd just loop a 3 core from PIR to PIR then to the other PIR, all connections are the same within the PIR, just looping the Line and Neutral across and then...

    Under floor heating

If the installation isn't installed as per the manufacturers say it should be, if they send a rep out and it differs from the instructions and there is a problem they will probably wash their hands, I've seen it happen, that's why I commented about it. But, crack on and install things as you...

    Under floor heating

Worth considering the length of the tail to the mat to be able to have everything concealed but also not not making anything inaccessible, because if it's just 3 x mats laid down then they will all have their own individual supply and they will all be at different points within the room, check...

Installation of home charging point for electric car.

I can't remember what make of car it is, but it's called a PHEV, they have a slow charge option, which is a 13A plug in, or a quick charge option, which is a 32A commando socket. The company we do a bit of work for must have a grant because these points and PHEVs have sprung up all over, they do...

    Flashing LED's

I've had a look at the data sheet, maybe not enough load for the driver, but by the looks of it the voltage is variable, would this have a bearing on anything? https://www.mlaccessories.co.uk/file-download/479f896e579989f4
