ASHP pump compatibility with power Supply

What exactly did you tell them when you applied for the supply? From what I can see, this inverter controlled compressor within this unit is rated at about 230v 3.2kW.... I am very surprised they have thrown this out based on harmonics. What size supply are you requesting? Are you in a rural...

    Hive single channel connections

Yes it should work fine, I am assuming that you have a combi boiler as all the hive will do is control your heating. The hive receiver will replace your existing Siemens Wireless thermostat receiver.

What he said ^^^^... pattress looks a bit shallow too... Hope there are no metal light fittings as it looks as though it’s a lighting circuit with no CPC

    Is a borrowed earth allowed?

I agree with Westy, the circuits cannot now be independently isolated, anyone working on the RFC in the future could potentially get a shock from the cooker circuit in the event of a fault on the cooker. It is as BL says like borrowing a neutral, as soon as that link is disconnected there could...

    Streetlighting for first time

There are many things to consider here, is the roadway close to public highway, is there residential developments nearby? If so light pollution from the new lighting needs to be considered and probably passed by planning authorities. Then there is the question of cable sizing and protective...

Busbar & Tap off box - power loss & Over-voltage issues

It also looks as though those bus bars are tinned or plated to improve conductivity, filing the bars will have removed this.

Piggy back main 12v 15A supply

Might be best if you draw out what you are trying to do, photograph it then post it so we can understand. If you are trying to ask that if you put two fuses of the same size in series, which will blow first? - that is anybody’s guess.

    Reuseof an existing Fuse switch

That range of switches is still available, manufactured by GE Power Controls. They are available in 63A, 100A, 200A & 250A and you can fit any permutation in a ‘5 pack’ stack except for the 250A when you can only fit one per ‘5 pack’ stack.

    Advice regarding inrush current please?

Your trusty clamp meter probably won’t react in time to give you an accurate reading especially if it’s digital, the inrush current drawn only lasts for microseconds

    Advice regarding inrush current please?

This is a data sheet for a Meanwell 200w LED driver which is a popular unit used by quite a number of manufacturers. I would imagine characteristics are similar for other brands. They suggest 4 units on a 6A type B or 6 units on a 6A type C ELG-200-MEAN WELL Switching Power Supply Manufacturer...

    Nursery electrical advice

I would also check what that switch is doing. Don’t like the exposed T&E especially in a kids room, also can’t see if there are any other cable exit holes in that patress. If I was the OP and that switch does not do anything I’d remove whilst the socket is being replaced.

Thanks Pete, this is very interesting and not what they said at the ‘Tech Talk’ ... bit more research required I reckon.
