Is Part Pee fit for purpose / who is policing this scam ???

Paying into a scam scheme doesn't make you conscientious it makes you compliant. Knowing your work is good makes you conscientious and being backed up by a scam who also take on 6 week wonders says nothing to the quality of your output. Cheating a stupid bent system isn't automatically wrong.

    UK Job price sheet

I guess you could figure out standard fittings that you offer and price accordingly by amount. So you could do 'LED Downlight X Brand' and then a column 'Quantity' and then add them up automatically in the total section depending on what you charge. Repeat for all fittings/services and if your...

    UK Job price sheet

I'd make my own since my way of working and pricing is different to others.

Is Part Pee fit for purpose / who is policing this scam ???

In this day and age i'm not going to blame anyone for struggling to get ahead. Wages are stagnating, costs are rising, rents are ridiculous. Add the money on top to be registered with these scams and i'm surprised anyone bothers. If everyone told them where to go they'd have to stop them. I...

Is Part Pee fit for purpose / who is policing this scam ???

Part P is a laughable joke, the rest of the world laughs at it when they hear about it. Qualified men having to notify building control is a joke. If you're not trusted to be the expert what's the point in the training? It's a money making scam which is what this country is built on...

    Consumer Unit MCBs

Depends on the customer and their budget. I know some blokes will only fit RCBO's on a new install and we might be moving away from them but we deffo haven't moved on yet, loads of RCD boards available in stores.

Is Part Pee fit for purpose / who is policing this scam ???

Personally being part of some scam that has no bearing on the quality of my work wouldn't make me sleep easier. It's an absolute farce that time served, qualified men have to pay to be able to say whether or not work is ok. It's only this country this applies in too, like the other guy said, the...

    Plastic Junction Box earthing?

Don't earth the box, but make sure there is continuity on the CPC by linking the incoming and outgoing CPC's together.

Oh so RCBO's specifically AREN'T mandatory, but RCD protection is?

    Smeg cooker tripping randomly

Yep i would get the spark to test the entire installation. If that returns nothing would it be worth changing the RCD to a Type A?

    Hob cable outside then in

SWA is no different to normal cable it's just mechanically protected, it's run from CU's to the inside of sheds all the time. Don't think people had a hard time, think the OP was just a silly question.

Does that count as the type that can backfeed DC to an RCD though?

    Smeg cooker tripping randomly

Sounds good. Coming from a French background i wonder if any of the experts in here (since i'm not one) think it's a reasonable suggestion that the AC RCD could be the problem? I've had a look at the cooker there doesn't seem to be much electronics on it so maybe this suggestion is bunk but i...

    Opinion on current fusebox

No RCD protection essentially means if you for example stuck a fork in a socket, instead of getting belted you simply die. Upgrade it to a new RCBO set up, you won't have to touch it again in your life time.

When you say 'check' did he put a multi function tester on it?

Was it tested though? Sometimes 'check it' means they just looked at some stuff.
