    Lighting for jewellery repair shop

Thanks for your replies. The workshop is high ceiling-ed so fittings are suspended on jack chain directly over the work benches. The set up works well but for the knackered fluorescent's, so I am just down to swap the fittings out for new. Half the tubes are out so its pretty dim in there...

    Lighting for jewellery repair shop

Hi guys, I ve got a job changing out some old 6ft fluorescent fittings in a workshop where they repair jewellery (very fine work), I am going to be replacing them with non-corrosive LED battens. My first instinct was to fit some 5000k coloured fittings but some people find it a bit 'headachey'...

I committed to Makita a few years ago and currently have over ten 18v tools. I have decided there pretty poor. Most of them have broken and had to be repaired or completely burnt out. Last purchase was the 481 drill - paid about £150 body only it is absolutely dreadful! can’t stand using it. If...

    Easy to use timeclock

Thanks guys. Timers are doing outside lighting, I’ve got them mounted in consumer units in various outbuildings etc, I won’t get away with the 1/2 hour trick with these people! The lights come on with a Photocell then go off with the timer. I think I’ll have a look at the Sangamo ones, they...

Hi All A while ago I fitted 3 x lewden dinrail time clocks, I am having to go back every 6 months to change the time for GMT/BST as the customer can’t get on with the controls, They are a bit fiddly to be fair! Can anyone recommend a timeclock that’s easier to use preferably with the hour...

    Using existing cable

I wouldn’t worry about it. When you build the extension use a registered electrician, they will give you a certificate on completion of the works, just hand that into the LABC they won’t have a clue which cables are covered by it and which aren’t.

Brushless motor battery drills - unsatisfactory speed control, or just this model?

I replaced a makita 458 (brushed) with a 491 (brushless) cost twice as much but is horrible bit of kit, would much rather have the 458. The speed control is really stepped on the brushless. The brushed motor seems to have infinite adjustment. Must be to do with how the electronics control the speed?

Hi Guys Thankyou for the replies, been mulling this over for the last week, I think unicourse is prob legit but I’ve decided to go with Teeside university, main reason is the security it affords. Unicourse | Anybody heard of Unicourse? Looking to do HNC with them

Hi I am keen to jump on the HNC bandwagon and I was originally looking at Teeside like a lot of guys on here have.
