This all sounds a bit weird to me, So you aren’t an electrician? You’ve had an NIC registered company in to do work but yet it’s deemed unsatisfactory/unsafe by another electrician? Needs more detail here like the others have said send the report here whilst ensuring the personal details are...

Dodgy trade pictures for your amusement! - 1 Million Views!

Unbelievable isn’t it, we all need to wholesaler runs but I’m on a job with kitchen/bathroom installation with a company I’ve not worked with before and they are taking the p**s with timescale and progression of job when they were pressuring me with the electrics I’ve done a couple of late...

    Earthing arrangement

Yes absolutely do not touch anything inside that enclosure. Ideally you should be there when the DNO are there and between you discuss what is going on. Too much to risk with potching inside there without safe isolation procedure we all want to go home at end of day ?

EICR unsatisfactory due to 'no RCD protection to lighting circuits'

Yea I agree is ridiculous I just change existing light fitting to suitably ip rated one is easy to do with little extra £££ so don’t see the need to be lazy and not change It.

EICR unsatisfactory due to 'no RCD protection to lighting circuits'

Depends on the location of the (Pendant) doesn’t it when your standing in the bath with a shower then ceiling height is reduced and especially if the pendant is within arms reach. All bathrooms without suitably IP rated light should be rcd protected in my opinion if they aren’t they C2 if they...

Outside lights / socket outside covered way

Isn’t it best to provide double pole isolation for outdoor equipment? Therefore in the event of a fault occurring you can isolate inside?

    TN-S earthing issue

I agree with you here I have two rules which I like to stick to. CSA of main earth should be at least half of supply conductors. Also within a TN earthing system should be minimum of 10mm. I do think a 6mm is undersized and needs upgrading just ring the DNO and speak to them I’ve done it many...

Outside lights / socket outside covered way

Just spur off a socket inside into a double pole isolator and then drill through to provide an external socket then either have a fused spur next to that socket or run SWA to a fused spur suitably IP rated fused down for lights required
