    Floodlight recommendation.

Thanks for the replies, ideally I would like a fitting with integral PIR. All of the LED floods I have used come pre-flexed, I've an idea they are soldered connections, taking them apart prob isn't an option as any warranty will be invalid. I have found some with a 4 core flex called red arrows...

    Step Drill Bits

I also use a trunking header on CUs where possible. I did a CU this week where all the cables were rear entry apart from one that was clipped down the wall above the board. I used a wiska emt grommet to bring this circuit thru the top surface off the board. A neat and compliant solution that...

No it doesn't need to be flame retardant but it's not always about doing the bare minimum, What IP rating is a 20mm bush with twin and earth going thru it?

    Step Drill Bits

The 960 deg flame retardant grommets that I suggested are more in the spirit of the reg than the standard grommets and bushes that you have just suggested. wouldnt you say?

    Step Drill Bits

yes exactly that, 2x 2.5s will fit fine. There fire retardant so in the spirit of 421.1.201! cheapest I have found them is TLC at £3.60 for the assorted pack

    Step Drill Bits

The wiska emt glands are spot on for bringing t&es thru a 20mm knockout. However if you want to make the knockout bigger the CK hole enlarging adapters are really good and only about £6

    Pv on rcd

I know nothing about PV but have just been reading about this in PE. It's because in the event of an earth fault on a final circuit THE RCD will remove the mains supply but the Invertor will continue to supply voltage to the shared bus bar until it is shut down this could take a few seconds -...

    Measuring inrush currents.

Yea don't think my Zs was too high from memory, just spoke to JCC and they said they have to be on a C type breaker and to allow 2A per driver! I ve got 3 of them so that's a whopping 6A for some 3 X 8w under pelmet lights! Looks like it's going to be a C10 then to allow for other lighting. Bad...

    Measuring inrush currents.

Sorry to hijack - I've just got this same problem with some JCC skyblades tripping the B6 MCB with inrush current. it says in the MI that they should be put on plug top or FCU ideally but if they are wired to a lighting circuit the MCB 'MAY' need upgrading. Very helpful. I don't think my meter...

    MK A3 board

The last MK board I fitted was insulated but put me off using them for life - dreadful! for domestic boards I will only use wylex. was interested to know why they have Honeywell written on them now, I guess they have been bought out.

    Stolen electric

I normally ring the DNO Powercut number when I come across any dangerous DNO equipment, there pretty helpful and they send someone to sort it. Most of them the DNO's have a revenue protection team which will deal with any theft. sam
