new minor works certificate for a fused spur

Hmmm, only speed read the last post, but a number of things I don’t agree with, like an EIC for changing ocpd and confirming Zs to ensure BS1362 will disconnect.

    Are short electrician courses good?

Cost me a grand to get my gas boiler relocated from garage to utility room. One new hole for the vent and a bit of copper pipe. Apparently that’s the going price. Not quite a days work for one man.

new minor works certificate for a fused spur

As this formed a lot of my work in the domestic market, additions via FCU, I asked the question here and elsewhere whether the FCU BS1362 fuse was the ocpd for what was on the addition. Some suggested it was the BS1362. However the guidance from my scheme, was that it was the ocpd for the final...

Ultimate responsibility lies with the owner of the property. Person carrying out the work and the owner must ensure that building regulations are complied with. It is the owner who would be served with any enforcement notice, if the work does not comply with the regulations. Peron carrying out...

Can someone clarify this please...Part Pee

I’ve not read of many actions taken by LBC in pursuance of the regulations, as highlighted in this instance, and indeed of other circumstances. In my experience, LBC‘s, do not know or are not mindful whether to proceed. If they did, there wouldn’t be people like this carrying out such works.

How reliable are you finding smoke detectors..whos do you prefer

@vitoboy name and shame. In our development we have BRK installed, which are no longer available. 5 years old now, and failing at an alarming rate, not just the 9V batteries. There's a program to replace them with Aico, once the accountant has got their arms lengthened or pockets raised.

I had those tiles on the first house I bought in 1979, and the fuseboard had rewireable fuses 🙂

I personally wouldn't, especially 6242y cable etc. Though that might not be the cable in this instant.

    Repairing damaged cable in wall

All screw terminal joints should be accessible, not sure I’d be comfortable with crimped or soldered joints not, being reliant on the installers skills therein.
