As said, indemnity insurance only helps against court action, not about putting things right. And as there is a limit on enforcement, probably not necessary in most cases.
Obviously, you should be guided by your solicitor.
Indemnity insurance is a one off insurance to help with legal fees, should your building control decide to take you to court, in this case for not complying with building regs. Thats the conservatory building work not the electrical additions...

I’ve not read of many actions taken by LBC in pursuance of the regulations, as highlighted in this instance, and indeed of other circumstances. In my experience, LBC‘s, do not know or are not mindful whether to proceed. If they did, there wouldn’t be people like this carrying out such works.

In our development we have BRK installed, which are no longer available. 5 years old now, and failing at an alarming rate, not just the 9V batteries. There's a program to replace them with Aico, once the accountant has got their arms lengthened or pockets raised.

All screw terminal joints should be accessible, not sure I’d be comfortable with crimped or soldered joints not, being reliant on the installers skills therein.
