It's doubtful you'll be able to identify the model of the fridge just using the info on the compressor.
There's always a sticker with the make, model and electrical details somewhere but sometimes they're in a very hidden place. Try removing the drawers in the fridge section and check at the...
It is a bit odd. It's not an essential service that's got a high impedance IT earthing arrangement for first fault tolerance is it? I'd suggest just accurately record all the IR test results and monitor their trends over time.
I'm assuming it's not been subjected to moisture or excessive condensation in the van maybe? If not I'd probably open it up and do a visual check of the internals then just relace the leads as a matter of course.
If it's underground I've always favoured SWA with good old fashioned resin joints. I would make a 3 way resin joint below ground, no enclosure necessary and would have used a short section of HO7 cable through a diagonal drilled hole into the bollard. It's swings and roundabouts, if there's a...
I'm the opposite, I also have an old and a new version and I prefer the newer one. I like the settable clutch on the newer one and also like the button option, if it's small screws I find you have to push the old one too hard sometimes to get it to run.
Fluorescent tubes also have 'triphospher'' versions. If the old tubes were triphospher versions they would have been up to 20% higher lumen output for the same wattage, they would also have had better colour rendering.
Also as James mentioned the new tubes may be slightly different colour...
Price.
SWA comes in many armour variations, there's aluminium armoured (which isn't SWA in the purest sense), steel armoured and also combination steel armoured with varying numbers of copper armour wires to decrease the armour impedance. You just specify according to your application. If you're...
I've also used them many years ago, they're okay if there's a place available to anchor the foot and it doesn't matter if it leaves a divet in whatever it's sitting on. Maybe useful if you're working on heavy construction steelwork or structural anchor bolts.
Nowadays the newer generations of...
I used to dislike Chint domestic circuit breakers, always thought they felt a bit cheap and nasty but that said I never heard of any particular problems with their equipment. I worked on systems integration with some MV distribution equipment in Uganda that was Chint and I was very impressed...
The death of a pet is as traumatic as losing a person you love. Every time it happens I say 'never again' but after a period of grieving we always get another one.
I'd suggest a reputable place that repairs phones and mobile devices. They will be able to do micro soldering and can remove components from the damaged area of the PCB and replace / reflow where necessary. Like this guy for example....
It's probably cheaper just to use SWA type resin joints than buying resin separately and using it a normal junction box that's probably got a relatively big internal volume. It's also not advisable to use GP resin from a hardware store because it's not guaranteed as being moisture free. Not sure...
Problem with a volt stick is if you put it near a spike light that you know has power on it you'd half expect at least that it would give you a live alarm even if the fitting casing was safe. The old neon screwdriver would give a more accurate result although even that wouldn't help if the outer...
A voltstick wouldn't have helped in this case because the circuit was already known to be live, maybe an old type neon screwdriver would have alerted you but if it was water in the bottom that got tipped around internally when you grabbed it then it also might not have tested live before you...
