Interesting read, and nice to be reminded of one of many of @Richard Burns informative answers, but no that wasnt the one. It definitely had Davesparks in the thread.
I vaguely remember a thread in which someone said they had removed the grey outer on twin and earth, so they could run the line and neutral as singles in conduit.
I also vaguely remember Davesparks (missed member!) explaining why this wasn't OK, but I can't remember why?
Are singles (designed...
I know the answer, at least I think I do as I am now questioning myself! It's just I've seen a few jobs recently where the electrician (or who ever did the job) did not give any fault protection to the armoured cable, so I am wondering if I am missing something?
The most recent example from...
Alan, that looks really dodgy having a the same label over 2 breakers.
You're posting in the electricians part of the form so I'm guessing you are an electrician. I'd swap this to the DIY section if that's not the case, you'll get more relaxed answers. Just get your testers out, make sure its a...

Good luck Gareth.
I spent 15 years as a nurse.
I've now been an electrician for almost 15 years and am VERY pleased I made the change.
Just keep trying, you'll find someone eventually.
If you can see a piece of plastic entering from the ground then (as cliff said), it does not need main bonding.
I think (not sure) this is reg 411.3.2
It says something along the lines of 'metallic pipes having an insulating section where they enter the house need not be connected to the main...
