Good Morning Thread - Come say good morning, tell us what you've got on today. :)

Nice. What is it? Also, being very picky, that tray cover could maybe use some support fixings in the centre of its span?

There must be some sort of helpline you can phone. Seems like another one of those programs for people who are desperate for attention.

EICR Failed - Open circuit / No continuity

Bear in mind cables should be in prescribed zones as well. Often forgotten when things are removed.

Timmy mallet covered it many years later. I wouldn't bother looking it.up on YouTube though to be honest!

Qualifications needed for self employed electricians

I would say the main essential thing for carrying out EICRs is plenty of experience!

Electricians Vans, any of you have electric vans? How good are they now?

Nissan Leaf probably more suited for town/commuting rather than long distance runs to be fair. I think baldsparky uses solar and has very low charging costs.

Good Old Delroy, he gets all the best Jobs :)

I never thought I'd share one of these videos, but see what you think to this. The comments are harsh but mostly fair - why Del sticks up for an electrician who he admits isn't good at fault finding or testing is beyond me!

Disconnected neutral wire from shower MCB in CU

Strange to disconnect just the neutral. Ideally both conductors would be isolated. You say the original electrician disconnected the neutral from the MCB though - now an MCB would not normally have a neutral terminal, but I wonder if is actually an RCBO? Have you any photos?

What is it called IR testing?

When testing yes, but sometimes useful to disconnect them when fault finding.

Not unlike the one I've got, which I've also changed from black to a very similar colour to yours...
