    Obviously you guys do not come accross beach pebble or Marland brick, both very common around here. Both require diamond cutting disks and then grinding disks. Beach pebbles can deflect a drill bit when drilling through a wall causing it to jam,have had to cut a few off and leave them in the wall

    Some showers have an internal 'channel' for top entry as a cable route which diverts water away from where it shouldn't be. Having said that it doesn't sound 100%!

    I take the view that with sealed units as the manufacturers know what is going to be in them, then they are able to state whether the units can be covered with insulation.     Does anybody know of a make of crocodile clip to fit on standard test leads (in my case Metrel) which do not leap off the terminal as soon as you a) look away or b) press the test button on the meter.

    I have a wera one. There interchangeable bit set works well on Hagar and SBS, slips on BG though when approaching the required torque but thinking about it most drivers slip on the BG screw heads

    Almost everything you have mentioned has high inrush demand on start up. Your electrician will need to design a circuit so that your mcb(s) do not trip when machines start.
