I have two 110s as my first one developed 'the fault' but out of warranty (I assumed a 1 year warranty?). It would still indicate voltage present on both probes but would not do the continuity function unless the lead was held in a certain way which made contactinternally. Don't think the leds...
The dnos work under ESQCR regs so not to BS7671.
For routine connections a system/network planner will be the person who decides what the network can support with regard to the proposed installation. Above him/her is a network technician. Higher up the ladder is the Protection Specialist who is...
Did my 18th edition update last week and during one of the more general discussions, we were told to C2 crimps on solid conductors unless they were done with the type of crimper that make the indents ie unless they were done with a crimper and crimps designed specifically for solid conductors
Your electrician will need to speak with WPD.
The first response you would have had from them will include 3 telephone numbers. Your electrician will need to speak to the system / network planner whose number would have been included.
Being brutally honest, about the only explanation they would...
Ok, a variation on a theme. In my drawing (dare I call it an artistic masterpiece?)the bathroom light will not be on unless it is switched by the dp switch regardless of whether a switch in the kitchen is operating the fan as well. There is no back feed from the fan because of the use of the...
Isn't that exactly the point of the question?
The op and his electrician have not recognised the wiring method, they have looked at a double pole switch and been baffled by it. This is a method that I first came across 10 years or so ago and was equally baffled but is a method I still...
You have a perm live to one supply pole of the dp light switch which is also taken to the in of the sfcu, the load pole is connected to the lamp. The fused out of the sfcu returns to the other supply side of the dp switch plus goes directly to the fan.The fused out of the dp switch goes to...
It isn't that unconventional! It is just a method of wiring using an sfcu to give isolation to all 3 live fan conductors whilst not isolating the bathroom light (so that you can see what you are doing!). Avoids having a triple pole isolator and is a neat way od doing things
I used a similar screwfix one a few years ago to channel through some shillet. Used it for about two hours and was on pain killers for about 9 months.
One of the reasons why these things are so cheap is there is nothing / very little done to asorb the vibration.
As I was unable to find someone...
Not completely sure I understand the issue. I have just fitted 3 lights controlled by 2 x pirs and with an override, the override switch could easily be changed for a time lag one if required.
This is the sort of thing that people can only really advise on when on site so that the way to adapt...
If in a windy location I use the airflow icon range as they have inbuilt electronic (and quite funky!) backdraught shutters and you can add many different types of modules fot different requirements (pullcord, timer, humidistat, pir etc). Unfortunately they do specify a 3A fuse
You can get plinth heaters that are fan assisted small radiators but very efficient. If you are able to run from the flow and return of the existing radiator under / around the plinth, you might be able to incorporate one of these. As they are fan assisted they will not rely solely on...
16mm implies either a substantial load or a long length to allow for volt drop.
A 50A mcb in your house consumer unit to protect the cable will not really give any discrimination from the mcbs in your garage cu so the answer is usually to use a fuse, something like a 63A in a switch fuse...
