My rental property was deemed non-compliant with electrical code because the earth stake wasn't labelled as per 5.5.1.3.
5.5.1.3 also says "Exception: Where the method of connection to the electrode precludes disconnection, this requirement need not apply."
In my case, there is a dedicated earth stake by the gas line which would be difficult to disconnect. Other electricians have come out in the past for compliance checks and found no issue. Could the exception be why?
It's especially annoying that this seems like something which would have been a 2 minute job during the inspection. Instead, I need to call them back for a $140 fee to have it labelled.
If I do need to label it, can I have another electrician come out to perform the labeling, and can they amend the existing report to mark it compliant?
