Hi, yeah. That's what I thought. Just having a debate, if its correct. We are labelling the terminals. Nothing on instructions. Just wanted to know it works same, and not breaking regs
Thanks
Anyone know if there is a reg in regards to supply going in to the top of a rotary isolator. We are changing the isolators over for ac units, long story short they won't reach the top terminals now, so feed can only go in bottom. Just a 2.5mm 3 core swa.
Cheers
Hi,
I am after some advice . I am an approved electrician . Nvq3, 2391 etc. Just looking in to doing a course in electrical design . I have looked at the level 4 design course , would this be a good place to start. Or, is there a better course ? Even if it takes a few years etc . Has anyone...
Hi,
Has anyone applied for a new ecs gold card as of late?
I have recently finished lvl 3 test and inspection . The qualification shows on back of the card, but, does not show lvl 3??
Hi,
Yes, I passed am2. I just took pictures of every step of what i was doing. Eg measuring the conduit, cutting the conduit, or bending the tube, installing the saddles etc. Probably averaged 4 pictures per logbook. It's been a while since I did it now. It is a bit of a ling process, but worth it
You will get a installation gold card, at electrician grade. Only with 2391 will you get approved, you also have to have gold card for 2 years. If you want to sub contract, and work on the commercial/ industrial site a gold card does matter, and is required nowadays.
Hi,
I know there are many ways to achieve this. I just wanted to know that the diagram I have drawn for this 2way switch would work. Just having neutrals at each point, for future smart switches. Thanks and merry crimbo
The switch is no longer functional. Need to have another look to find out if it is a DEX12 or DEX?
DEX12 rated current: 38/48
DEX: 26/39
Think it is possible that they have been playing around with the switches.
Hi,
Got sent to a job today at student halls of residence. They have had 3 45 amp isolator switches blow in the last month for the zip inline water heater.
As shown in pictures, the water heater is being fed by a B40MCB and then in to a 45 amp isolation point above the door, then to the heater...
hi,
I have my 18th edition exam booked next week. I have just started to read up on the changes.
I am correct in stating that if the gas and water pipes have a plastic insulated section. At point of entry, then they do not require 10mm bonding??
Sorry if this is a stupid question....
Thanks
good To know. I may be going back to being self employed. But, not if that’s the going rate that people are expecting! I will just stick to the site work.
Yeah,
I said to the bloke on the phone he was getting a good price for the board change, and test. As it was a bit of a favour and I had some boards already in my van etc, I said I would do it for 300. The fella I used to work with was going to issue him with a cert after I had completed the...
hi,
Just wanted some opinions on to whether people think this is as ridiculous as I do?
A fella I used to work with on the same firm a bit back wanted some work doing for a bloke he had been wiring some flats in for. He tells me it’s a consumer unit upgrade and an test and inspection of the...
I couldn’t agree more. Particularly in this case. I’m 95% certain it relates to the strike. I think it’s always best to get as much information out of the tenant or whoever about when and how the fault occurred etc. He may give you some clues e.g. lighting strike, flood damage. You would...
