    That would have been such a silly bodge instead of having the source found. It is one of my concerns that the upgrade will unearth some more issues, maybe a few nuissance trips but I think it's worth it for the added protection RCBO's bring.

    Absolutely, that's why I want a new CU with all RCBO's and surge protection, this one is terribly outdated.

    The EICR pointed to lack of RCD but not to the mix of MCBs in the enclosure. There is a seperate RCB only for the garage but he noted this is not tripping in spec. Is the cover potentially unsafe? Do I need to get an electrician out to sort it?

    I had an EICR a few months ago and have only just now noticed the Consumer unit cover is not on quite properly. Below is a photo before the EICR Is this even safe?
